Holy Hearts

Dutch words: "Jesus, Mary, Joseph, I give you my heart. I give you my life."

Another treasure from Micki at Holy Cards for your Inspiration. I could not resist posting again here in honor of the holy hearts of Jesus and His earthly parents. Enjoy.

"Shall I see You no more?"

Can you hear your sorrowful mother say "Beloved Son, shall I see you no more?"
We ought not be afraid of entering into the desert of our own sorrow in loss and trial. The Lord is pleased to thus purify and soften us. To those He loves He gives a portion of His cross, therefore within every suffering there is a great blessing. Let us strive to be not attached to our God's sweetness and consolation for it is in fire that gold is purified.
Lord, in your Sorrowful Mother's Immaculate Heart I place myself forever, there to be purified by the fire of Thy love. Do with me what You will, I surrender myself unto Thee. Amen+

Confession Holy Card

French translation: "I shall penetrate your heart with a great abhorrence of sin."

Another great holy card from Micki at Holy Cards for Your Inspiration that I had to share with you. Frequent confession is truly key to achieving holiness in this life. Only through fastidious and frequent examination of conscience, contrition and absolution can we hope to have our souls cleansed and healed by God. Jesus told St. Faustina that He speaks directly to us through the priest in confession: "It is only the lips of the priest, but I who am speaking." (paraphrased) I love the way the Angel Guardian bends to whisper in the ear of the penitent woman - amazing.

The Holiness of the Priesthood

Another perfect holy card from Micki at Holy Cards for Your Inspiration.
"When you awake in the night, transport yourself quickly in spirit before the Tabernacle, saying: 'Behold, my God, I come to adore You, to praise, thank, and love you, and to keep you company with all the Angels,' "
"I throw myself at the foot of the Tabernacle like a dog at the foot of his Master."

- St. John Vianney

At the Foot of the Cross of Christ

"Let us go to the foot of the Cross,
and there complain....if we have the
courage."
Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat
Another beautiful holy card from Micki. I cannot recommend her fine blog enough. Place yourself dear reader here in the young person's place when you pray to Jesus. See with the eyes of your soul how His love for you is expressed in His willingness to suffer and die for you. Your faith consists not in sweetness, fun and happiness but rather in a willingness to suffer with your Lord upon the Cross. Amen+

Beautiful Holy Card

This one posted by Ken at Hallowed Ground. I love this image and the way Mary is depicted offering together with the priest the chalice of Christ's blood to the Father. I often picture in my mind Mary making this same offering at the foot of the Cross.

Herman Joseph (boy holding apples), St. Stephen of Hungary (King), St. Charles Borromeo (Kneeling Cardinal), St. Dominic (holding lily), St. Anselm (Standing Bishop), St. Nothburga (Sickle over her head).

Another Beautiful Holy Card

"The First Night of the Holy Family In EgyptJesus could rest only on the heart of Mary."

This one is from He Gently Calls Us. I highly recommend this blog for the wondrous images and quotes to inspire us and remind us that God is holy in the midst of the darkness of this exile.

Another Gem of a Holy Card

This is the most unique holy card I've ever seen. I nabbed with from Holy Cards for Your Inspiration - one of the best blogs on the net. Note the beautiful symbolism, all the instruments used to torture Jesus and the reverent way the Five Wounds of Our Lord are depicted. The black coloration adds to the somber feeling. The image is both beautiful and tragic at the same time. A truly reverent depiction of how Jesus suffered for us, redeemed the world through suffering. We must always and everywhere remember to enjoin our sufferings with His, offer them to the Eternal Father in reparation for sins and for the Souls in Purgatory. Amen+

Our Lady of the Phillipines

This one shamelessy nicked from Micki and Holy Cards for Your Inspiration - one of my favorite blogs. This holy card is absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't resist posting it here. I am so very touched by the innocent looks on the faces of Our Lady and Our Lord, notice how He gives Himself to His Mother's embrace. We are all to seek shelter in her holy arms!
